Mayor Muriel Bowser has announced the decision that DC's publish school system will host all virtual classes this fall.

To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, students in grades pre-K through 12 will engage in distant learning for the first term of the school year, which runs from August 31-November 6.

In a packet presented at the press conference where the announcement was made, it was noted that students who do not have access to the internet or a computer device at home will be "provided with the technology they need to participate in virtual learning."

Also in the packet it was stated that students who require special education, English language support or any additional support will still receive these services.
