DC to Re-Instate Mask Mandate This Weekend

With COVID-19 cases unfortunately on the rise again thanks to the delta variant, restrictions are being put back into place.

Mayor Muriel Bowser announced today that Washington DC will once again require masks indoors, regardless of vaccination status, beginning this Saturday, July 31 at 2AM. The rule applies to any individual over the age of 2.

It was also announced that a plan is in motion to require government employees to be vaccinated.

According to the CDC, DC is at a substantial risk of community transmission, the second highest level on the scale. The CDC recommends that places with either "substantial" or "high" re-instate indoor mask mandates.
